What is in a name?

The origin and history of the word “Vero” is from the Latin word vērus (“true”).  As a noun it means “Truth” and as an adverb (Latin) it means “Truly, really in truth.” (source)

This captures perfectly Vero Consulting’s philosophy: Finding the truth.

As forensic accountants we do more than just crunch numbers. Our ability to deduce meaning from complex calculus and present them in simple and accessible words sets us apart. A practical approach to advising, researching and defending assures our clients that no stone will be left unturned.

Forensic accounting firm London UK

Team history

Charles’ first experience of forensic work was in a major City investigation in the late 1980s. As a result of his work the case was referred to the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and Charles worked with their prosecution team to a successful prosecution, one of the SFO’s early successes in the early 1990s. This experience led to more forensic investigations and expert witness cases.

The current team met while working for top-10 global accounting firm Moore Stephens LLP’s London office (now part of BDO) when Charles was leading the forensic accounting services team. The team worked together on many large cases, including several notable cases: the large Solitaire arbitration and the landmark Prest v Prest, which led to a Supreme Court hearing.

The four leading members of the Vero Consulting team had worked together for over 10 years before they moved to Vero Consulting in 2016. They continue to work well together as a team, with each individual bringing a different strength and contribution to each case.
